After spending the morning at Panama City Airport, we finally arrive in Lima. The view as we descend is very cool. Like the Queenstown mountains (but less dramatic) with a bustling city in what can only be described as the deep desert. No vegetation in sight. A very different view from Ecuador and The Galapogas.
Long ish taxi once landed, we grab our bags, swivel through immigration and hop into our transfer to the hostel for the next few nights. Well what we thought was our transfer. Got absolutely played with taxis. What's was supposed to be plane sailing, ended up costing us double, with two taxis, a scrap and a scuffle. Eventually we make it.
Nestle into the hostel and go for a walk. Not told but no lift and 4 flights of stairs to get up. Bit of a slog but worth it. Decent room, rooftop bar and hot tub. Pool table the lot.
Mission was to get some hiking boots. My trainers are battered. The Tims haven't lasted that long but they've been through alot. A few hours later and the Solomons purchased. Not cheap but necessary. Sink a few of the local delicacy. Pisco sour. Some sour drink with egg white, gin, voddy and all sorts. Its decent enough.
Head back to the hostel and have a a bit of a sesh with the travelers.
